Where To Eat And Drink in Rotterdam Restaurant And Bar Review

City trip tactics; get a map and hit the streets. Rotterdam is easily covered by foot - or a somewhat choppy water taxi if you like your life and don't want to lose it crossing the Erasmus bridge (there was an exchanged look of support and sympathy as you passed each brave fool who decided to walk across it on one of the windiest days I've experienced this year). Other than that, Rotterdam is creative, individual and quite beautiful. The Beautiful South were so wrong; there is no way you could ever think that Rotterdam was just like any other place but you still can't help but sing it when you're there. Damn them and their catchy song.

Food wise, I had my lunch from the Market Hall. The market hall is a gorgeous glass and essentially glorified wind tunnel filled with every cuisine imaginable. I had arrived at Rotterdam station early afternoon and I hadn't had much food. I was told by the guy at the station to visit here but he didn't mention it served food, I just assumed it would be like a flea market with knick knacks. So I popped in to have a look around and then nearly passed out with joy. Was this haven of grub a hunger-induced mirage? No no miracles exist.

I had a freshly made gozleme, a savoury Turkish flatbread with cheese, spinach and chilli powder which was kind of like a quesadilla.

Oreo ice cream. Yeah you do.
Fjord was the #2 restaurant in Rotterdam on TripAdvisor although I think it is a worthy #1 contender.

The tuna was beautifully cooked but actually I was genuinely blown over by how tasty the seasonal veg were. They were so good!

This happened. I have no regrets.

I was chatting to the waitress and asked where was good for cocktails. She enthusiastically suggested Noah. However when I got there, with it being Easter Monday (and a Monday I guess) nowhere was opened which is a shame as their Facebook page looked good!

Anyway by that point I was a bit tired having done about +31k fitbit steps that day (fitbit emperor) and the Manhattan Hotel was right by the station (and was a 5* hotel) so I only had to stumble (not drunk, just weary feet) to the station afterwards.

It was a nice place to end my day in Rotterdam. I didn't get the table with the cool view of Rotterdam station but it was still a nice bar to wind down to before I got on the train and went on my way.

Have you been to Rotterdam?
