Reyka Vodka bitters launch party at Looking Glass Cocktail Club

It feels like it's been ages since I've written a post on here.  There's been a lot going on the last month that I've barely had a chance to think, let alone drink.  So when the lovely people of Reyka Vodka wanted me to try out their new bitters product at Looking Glass Cocktail Club because they were throwing a party, I decided alcohol was definitely the solution.

Party.  Check.
Vodka.  Check.
Cocktails.  Check.
Shoreditch.  Check.
A drink from Iceland.  Mega love for this.

So the venue.  This generously proportioned mirror not only makes it super for a cheeky selfie but it's actually the door to the party which was hiding behind it.  This is totally Alice's speakeasy.  Inside was an eclectic mix of furniture which made me feel part Alice, part Marie Antoinette, part Shoreditch hipster (if only).

I don't know much about bitters other than they always sound like they're orange based.  The Reyka bitters are made from Icelandic moss, angelica leaf and crowberry juicer and the results are very pleasing.  This is also the first time I've tried Reyka vodka which is very smooth.  Strong but smooth.

This was my favourite cocktail of the night.

My favourite drinks were the long ones but in general these are not very heavy drinks so I'll definitely be looking out for Reyka Vodka in the future.  Looking Glass Cocktail Club was also very cute and quirky and it'll be good to try their resident drinks in the future.  So a big thank you to Reyka Vodka for inviting me to come along.  You helped reminded me that life isn't about work. work. sleep. repeat.  It is definitely about saying yes to invites from people you haven't met, entering bars behind a looking glass and trying some absolutely delicious cocktails.
